API DEVELOPMENT
More and more companies store, handle and use their data regardless of their format and size. In the Web field, the most profitable way of using this data consists in resorting to API type services.
These Web services enable a rapid distribution of information between customers, providers, business partners and their different platforms.
An API aggregates the data from different sources on one platform, structures them and makes them available in real-time. The data therefore become exploitable for the existing or new projects or applications.
FIELDS OF USE
APIs have a wide range of uses, here are a few examples:
- access to features hosted on external servers (Google, Facebook, Twitter…)
- information monitoring
- data recovery
- notification (push mobile…)
- communication with a third party service (artificial intelligence…)
REST API
The RESTful APIs are generally used to transfer data from one system to another.
They offer the following benefits:
- flexibility of use with settings in the address and HTTP request heading
- they allow customer applications to access services automatically
- they use independent languages and protocols of establishment platforms, thus strengthening the interoperability between services
- they follow the current Web standards
WEBSOCKET
The standard websocket indicates a network protocol that introduces a bidirectional dialogue between 2 systems. It is particularly used to generate notifications by using a bit of bandwidth.
